S-Tresses Free

Sponsored Post

I was very honoured to be invited to "Hair Salon COVO" for a hair treatment and perming session with them. Ryu, their senior stylist also happened to be my stylist during the Datsumo Labo event!

Well... my hair is still manageable at this point but the constant dyeing and perming (not to mention; daily blow drying) when I still had my long hair was kinda making the ends really dry.

Also, during our family trip to Hong Kong back in January, the hairdresser in this random salon that we walked into did a disastrous job in perming and it turned all frizzy on some parts..... now, I have to wait till the frizzy parts grow a little longer before I can get it chop off :(

Back to COVO!

(The entrance. An eyelash extension salon that belongs to the same company with COVO is right upstairs too!)

(This is Ryu, senior stylist of COVO! A very chatty, funny and well travelled guy. With many years of experience to boot, he definitely has this edge and also the skill to give you the look you want to achieve!)

After settling in, we had a short catch up and I told him It was kinda too early to dye my hair as I just had it dyed green 2 months ago. So, he suggested treatment and I suggested doing a perm for my ends so that it will stop curling outwards!

Before we start, he noticed the bad frizz on some parts of my hair and was worried perming might made it worse.. so he did this..

(He cut a strand off and started doing a test perm on it first. Call me suaku.. but I've never been to a salon that does this before. Fortunately, results were good and my hair was still able to take the perm!)

(Ryu's private accessories "dish" for his clients. He collected all these interesting pins from all over the world)

(All my favourite Japanese Magazines)

(He also suggested thinning my hair a lil to give it more volume as it was too heavy and it'll be difficult to blow into shape)

(Glad to know the test perm went well.. was pretty excited!! My hair ends tend to curl out as it grows and using the curling iron everyday can be quite a chore at times...)

After about 30 - 45 mins, time to see the results! Ryu gave my scalp a good massage and together with their hot mist treatment, it's just the kinda remedy I need after a long hard week.. soothing and calming :)

Don't be surprised, Ryu does all the work himself, from cutting, to putting on the chemicals, washing, massaging your shoulders and blow drying, everything is done by the very attentive stylist.

(SUPER SATISFIEDDDD! Love the curl in effect and how soft my hair felt after the treatment!)

I'd be like....

(Walking out of the salon....)
