Japan's Skincare Haul 2017

Yes! Finally done with the review of my recent Japan skincare hauls! There's actually a few more products to be reviewed but all that trying and changing of products is taking a slight toll on my skin so this post will focus on my faves and must buys in Japan! (The Kanebo Suisai Beauty Clear Powder - ETD 1700 Yen)

One of the most sought after powder facial cleansers in Japan. You will probably know its popular because everyone in the drugstore is trying to purchase them (tourist and natives alike). Armed with Soy Milk Extract and Hyluronic Acid; its packed with enzymes thats capable of exfoliating and removing dead skin cells plus sebum!

All you have to do is drop a few droplets of water (customize to your liking!) and lather onto your damp skin then rinse. I use every once or twice a week to give my skin a good exfoliate (little water) and the result is pretty good! Brightens and smoothens my skin, giving it a supple touch. Worth purchasing albeit slighty pricier than the usual drugstore brands!

(The Evita Beauty Whip Soap - ETD 1200 Yen)

This product needs no introduction! Being in the market since last year, well known for dispensing a beautiful rose foam...... that will eventually be naught when you slap it onto your face. Does it work for your skin? I'm pretty impressed to be honest.

The (super) rich foam is incredibly awesome when it comes to moisturizing your skin! Packed with collagen, this cleanser is perfect if you're looking for hydration. This product is specifically targeted at older women and comes with a tinge of rose scent as well! I love to use it in the mornings to give my skin a quick pep-me-up! Not available in Singapore though.

(The Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil - 1700 Yen)

Everyone's favorite Japanese brand, Fancl is finally back in Singapore! I bought this long standing cleanser (launched 1997 and reformulated a couple of times) in Japan's drugstore since it's cheaper (its a whopping $30 in SG!).

Other than removing all your makeup grime, it can double up as a cleanser as well for lazy days. As a makeup remover, it's one of the best that I have in my range (wipes, cleansing water, etc). Other than removing most of my makeup with ease, it doesn't leave red patches on me like wipes does and it gives quite a good shine after as well!

(Kose's Hadakiwami Power Wash - 1400 Yen)

Compared to the earlier Kanebo Suisai Clear Beauty Powder, the Kose's Hadakiwami Powder Wash works better for me (and my mom!). Regretted buying the mixed box, which comes with Esprique's CC Base and Foundation but more on makeup in the next post.

This facial cleanser contains more powder and it extracts ingredients from rice which can potentially give you a soft and smooth skin texture! For dry skin like mine, it works SUPER DUPER WELL. (Shiseido's Anessa Essence UV Sunscreen)

Another product that needs no introduction. You can find them easily in drugstores and they are all over the place in Japan! I tried the silver bottle instead of the gold one since its preferred for people thats looking to retain moisture. Gold bottle will be useful if you're looking for something thats super waterproof!

Not only does the silver series retain water and keeps your skin moisturized, the milky texture of these Anessa's Sunscreens gave my skin a really good glow as well! Although personally, I'd prefer a more creamy texture. The small tube of whitening essence also helps improve your pigmented skin and its a pretty good makeup base! And its going to be available in Singapore real soon!

(Kanebo Allie Extra UV Gel, Mineral Moist Neo)

Instead of going for the popular Anessa, trust me. The Kanebo Allie is MUCH BETTER. Yes, Anessa does its job pretty well and its not a bad sunscreen i'd say but THIS. This works in miracle ways! Not only does this function like a super hero protecting your skin from the sun, it gives me superb hydration and best of all, an ACE makeup base.

Not only does my makeup stays throughout the day, it doesn't flake or turn oily AT ALL. And for some odd reason, it whitens my skin and brings out a natural dewy glow! Probably cause of the hyaluronic acid and a blend of treatment essence in this bottle. MUST BUY. (shoutout to my friend Sandra for recommending this when I was in Japan!)

(LuluLun's Precious Cream)

I've tried before LuLuLun's mask sometime last year (due to its pretty packaging in Tokyu Hands) and it works pretty well for me! Chance upon their range in Tokyo and I saw this pretty packaging (red and gold!) sitting there so I couldn't resist! JUST LOOK AT THE BOTTLE!

Blended with anti-aging ingredients and fermented extracts (together with other nutrients for your skin), the richness of the cream soothes my skin texture and always left a supple effect in the morning (I use it often as a night mask!). It can double up as a moisturizer as well if your skin is not the oily type! For optimum effect, slab on some of these after your usual mask routine!

(Shiseido Elixir Sleeping Gel Pack - 2800 Yen)

Another win by Shiseido, this sleeping gel pack is another crucial addon to my everyday skincare routine. Featuring a bouncy gel like cream that gets absorbed into your skin once applied on, it contains Shiseido's signature blend of collagen, inositol, plant-based rosemary and olive leaf extracts.

Best suited for mature skin or skin thats showing early stages of ageing! Pure coincidence that I keep purchasing anti-aging products 😝 Often my last skin care step, I use it sparingly (quite expensive!) and about 3 times a week to improve radiance and ease out certain fine lines! Superb for ladies 25 and beyond, with dull/dry skin like mine!

(Clear Turn Babyish Precious Oil-in-Milky Mask)

THIS. This mask is now my FAVORITE. And i'm sulking cause I only bought a measly 1 pack (5 pieces) back to SG!!! 😡😡 It delivers the promise of giving you BABY SMOOTH SKIN! With every usage, not only does it hydrate, moisturize and helps in my dull skin.... THAT ROSY CHEEK GLOW! 😍😍😍 A highly concentrated milky mask, it contains 3 different types of oil (Argan Oil, Virgin Coconut Oil, Baobab Oil) and of course, Hyaluronic Acid.

There's a reason this is #1 in Clear Turn's range of sheet masks for 11 FREAKING years! 3 different types for your skin's needs, Moisturizing, Plumping and Whitening! Currently not for sale in Singapore 😭😭😭

(Non Kuma Eye Sheets 4 Pieces)

This interesting eye mask can actually be reused! Until the adhesive worn out that is. Targted at dark eye circles also helps circulate blood flow around the eye area with its infrared technology. Best for users that loves sleeping late or always lack of sleep!

It gives a warm fuzzy feeling when you put on the eye mask which is quite comfortable, not like the usual gel eye masks I always use that dries up very quickly. First use didn't show much result though it did ease out my mom's eye bags a little! With constant usage, this could show pretty good results I believe!

(Smile Cosmetique Whitening Strips - 1500 Yen)

Number 1 on COSME, a Japanese Cosmetics store that always feature one of the best skincare, makeup, hair care and even oral care! This unique whitening strips comes with concentrated ion cleaning technology, a unique dental tech from Japan. Which helps to remove plague from teeth effectively!

It's mentioned on the box to put on the strips for 3 minutes and remove after but I'd suggest 3-10 minutes to get the best results! Keep your gums and teeth as dry as possible to make sure the strips sticks to your teeth, once its done, brush (without any paste) and rinse! Pretty awesome results I must say, could tell the difference within one strip! Advised to use twice a day for optimum results!
